Who Are You? – Meet Trever Gallina

I have been having fun reaching out to my connections – perfect strangers I would not have been connected to– if not for the internet and all its glory!

I enjoy meeting people. I enjoy finding out what others do and what makes them tick. I enjoy traveling, walking and great conversations.

I love retail .. the buildings, the architecture, the lighting.. everything right down to the placement of plants, chairs, tables, and the displays of goods. I love walking into a store for the first time and admiring its treasures.

I love the old and new. I love color, and getting lost in background music – as I explore. I reached out to Trever Gallina recently because his role as a Retail Leasing Broker seemed fun, and exciting….never a dull moment in the city.

Meet Trever Gallina – Commercial Retail Leasing Broker

Trever J. Gallina joined Isaacs and Company in November 2016, bringing unique expertise in market analysis and retail tenant and landlord representation to the team. During his previous 15 years as a retail real estate representative, including 13 years at the Manhattan headquarters of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank Retail, he played an integral role in many high-profile national retail expansions. He specializes in New York City leasing in fashion forward and luxury product destinations.

Trever has provided leasing advisory services to Goldman Sachs, Atlantic Development Group, Bazbaz Development, Boymelgreen Development, Fisher Brothers, the Friedland Company, Hines Development, Oaktree Capital, SL Green, Pace University, Tishman Speyer, Solil Management, the estate of Stanley Stahl, Tamarkin Development, Treeline Development and UBS Realty Advisors.

Trever also planned and implemented the US retail strategies of Fred Perry and Asics, acquiring three New York City flagship stores and several others in major US markets for the athletic brand. He secured the Rodeo Drive flagship store for Barbara Bui and placed Haute Hippie in multiple high-traffic locations, including SoHo and Madison Avenue. Other clients have included Paris-based Facconable, Geneva-based Richemont, Montreal-based M0851, Parasuco Jeans and James Perse.

Happy side note ….

Trever Gallina is a family man at heart—originally from Wisconsin— who now has a love for New York. The hustle and bustle of the city. The food, the people, clients and friends have made Trever the people person he is today.

I love that Trever is a volunteer for a non-profit group called The Red Circle Foundation. This organization serves the families of fallen and wounded heroes. I have been an active volunteer for years with different organizations and with each event and experience I have met wonderful people along the way.

“Life is full of different experiences” and each day is a blessing.

Thank you Trever for taking the time out of your day to allow me to share part of your city world. If you have a question for Trever he can be reached via Email:

Cold Calling Funnies ..

This post is for anyone that makes cold calls. I love making them –truly I do. BUT sometimes my thoughts are way ahead of my mouth and what comes out….

I recently made a cold call — I was looking at the company contact name and my previous notes. I had Edward (then the last name) with the title of owner. A really nice man answered the phone — and out I blurted ” Hello –is owner there” .. then I paused.. we both laughed and I added.. Edward – the owner. We both continued to laugh. He was not in, and I agreed to call another day. We both were still laughing as we hung up the phone.

I had a cold calling day —once —-when instead of saying ” I am so glad I had a chance to speak with you” — I accidentally blurted out ” I am so glad you had the chance to speak with me” .. not what you want to say to an owner — but I can usually laugh at myself and turn a negative into a funny….

One of my most memorable ‘slip-ups’ would have to be the time I was put on hold. For the longest time… and if it was not long — it felt like forever.

Music began to play and the song was AWESOME (NOW I did not mind being on hold at all).

I started singing….. EVENTUALLY, someone came back on the line– and told me I had a nice voice. I almost DIED. Apparently, I was on hold and I could not hear the person on the other end ….. but they could hear me. All in a cold-callers day!!

Meet Erika Armstrong – Aviation Professor and Author

Erika is currently an aviation professor at Metropolitan State University of Denver teaching Aircraft Systems and Propulsion, Aviation Fundamentals and Instrument ground school. She is an aviation journalist for seven aviation magazines and author of A Chick in the Cockpit.

Her articles can be found at Disciples of Flight, NYC Aviation, Consumer Affairs, Mountain Connection, Contrails, Plane & Pilot, General Aviation News, Mentor, Business Insider and Flying.com magazine. She has over 300,000 readers each month and is a Thought Leader with 200,000 followers. Most uniquely, Erika was an international corporate, cargo, hazmat, airline, Red Cross and 24-hour air ambulance pilot/captain.

Her book, A CHICK IN THE COCKPIT, will change your perspective of pilots, aviation and the quiet power of women. In the high stakes, ego-driven world of aviation, this is an extraordinary bestselling true story of how a level-headed, self-deprecating woman with an aviation addiction finds herself in jail, her baby ripped from her arms, her piloting career taken away, and every feasible exit leads to a very dark place…
